MALICIOUS INJURIES, 2022-06160108, 2400 block of the Richmond Highway. At approximately 11:27 a.m. on June 16, police were dispatched to report an assault causing injury. Upon arrival, officers spotted an adult male suffering from a stab wound and immediately began rescuing. He was transported to an area hospital with injuries considered serious but not life-threatening. The suspect fled before officers arrived. A search of the area, including an aerial search involving a police helicopter, came up with negative results. The suspect is described as a slender black male, 30 to 40 years old, with shoulder dreadlocks and wearing a red shirt and dark pants. The preliminary investigation indicates that the suspect approached the victim and a verbal argument ensued, during which the suspect pulled out a knife and struck the victim. The investigation is ongoing.
MALICIOUS INJURIES2022-06160210, 5000 block of 7e Road S. At approximately 9:04 p.m. on June 16, police were dispatched to report an assault that had just occurred. Upon arrival, it was determined that the victim and suspect were involved in a verbal parking argument when the suspect allegedly pushed the victim out of the way, got into her car, and attempted to move her. The victim pulled the suspect out of the vehicle and he pushed her, knocking her to the ground. A security guard intervened and separated the parties. The suspect then got into his vehicle, described as a white van, and fled. While fleeing, the suspect allegedly hit the victim’s vehicle, a sign on the property, and ran towards the security guard, knocking him out of the way. The suspect is described as a slender Hispanic male, 25 to 30 years old, weighing 170 to 190 pounds, about 5’8″ to 5’10” tall, with a well-trimmed beard, wearing a white shirt and casual dark in color. FLIGHT (late), 2022-06160159 Block 1100 S. Hayes Street. At approximately 4:41 p.m. on June 16, police were dispatched to a late report of a robbery. Upon arrival, it was determined that at approximately 3:30 p.m. the suspect was in a retail store when he began picking up stacks of shirts. When an employee intervened, the suspect pushed her and fled on foot with the stolen merchandise. The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 18 years old, with short black hair, wearing a white tank top, black pants and carrying a black backpack. The investigation is ongoing.
