Mall anchored in proposed grocery store in this New Holland location

July 13 – An anchored grocery store mall arrives at the 75-acre LImestone Greenway mixed-use development in the New Holland community.

Tenants have yet to be named, but Limestone Marketplace will include a 48,387 square foot grocery store, three 8,400 square foot restaurants or retail stores and four outdoor lots ranging in size from 1 acre to 1.75 acres, according to Atlanta Developer Branch Properties website.

The new development would be on Limestone Parkway at New Holland Way, opposite New Holland Market, which includes a Kroger Marketplace.

“The mall has incredible visibility” and “will be accessible to many shoppers from some of Gainesville’s busiest thoroughfares,” Branch’s website says.

Further details were not available except that the center would also be located on Victory Street at Jesse Jewell Parkway in Gainesville.

The Gainesville Planning and Appeals Board voted Tuesday, July 12 to recommend the city’s annexation of Victory Street, one of a series of streets off Jesse Jewell lined with century-old homes making up the unincorporated community in a New Holland company.

The council’s recommendation was forwarded to the Gainesville City Council, which will vote on the matter later.

In the event of annexation, the road would be widened and decorative curbs, gutters, sidewalks and streetlights would be installed. In addition, trees would be planted and parallel on-street parking added, according to city documents.

Branch Properties would pay for the upgrades, with Victory Street providing secondary access to the mall, according to the city.

The road would be maintained as a public street, the city says.

Apartments, townhouses and other commercial developments are planned for Limestone Greenway.
