New Service Tasmania website makes it easier to find government services

July 14, 2022

Jeremy Rockliff, Prime Minister

The Liberal Government of Tasmania is committed to providing Tasmanians with faster and easier access to the government services they expect and deserve.

We have invested $4.3 million in the 2021/22 State Budget to begin development of the ‘myServiceTas’ portal, to provide Tasmanians with a single, secure and easy-to-use point of access to government services .

Today we are launching the new Service Tasmania website which is the first step towards that vision.

The greatly expanded website provides a one-stop-shop for information on over 400 government services, offering an overview of each service in easy-to-understand terms, as well as key information such as how to apply, eligibility and costs.

The new site was developed with input from a diverse group of Tasmanians at every stage of the design process. An accessible, mobile-first design ensures that 60% of current site visitors using mobile phones and tablets can access the services they need, wherever they are.

The new site will become the launch point for the ‘myServiceTas’ digital portal, currently being acquired, which will allow Tasmanians to create an online account to manage their government services.

The successful bidder is expected to be announced later this year, with the first stage of the digital portal due to go live in 2023.

Importantly, the statewide Service Tasmania storefront network, which has been at the forefront of delivering government services to Tasmanians for many decades, will remain in place.

Providing a choice of services to our community is essential. Our face-to-face staff and call center will continue to provide personalized support in conjunction with the new website.
