Target and Denny arrive at Yorba Linda Mall – Orange County Register

Target and Denny’s join Valley View Mall in Yorba Linda, both signing leases in recent weeks with owner ValueRock in Irvine.

The red dot retailer will replace Orchard Supply Hardware, which closed in 2018.

ValueRock said Target will add 5,000 square feet to the existing east side of the old OSH at the corner of Yorba Linda Boulevard and Richfield Road.

The store is part of Target’s retail expansion into smaller format stores. The Minneapolis-based company recently opened compact stores in Costa Mesa and Huntington Beach. For scale, traditional Target stores average around 130,000 square feet.

Despite its small size, the Target in Yorba Linda will carry the usual range of clothing, household items, food, and a small pharmacy.

Denny’s is entering a 5,000 square foot retail space on the same property. said ValueRock.

Denny’s and Target are expected to open in early 2023.

The new tenants join Sprouts Farmers Market, which has been the main anchor since OSH closed. The shuttered hardware store has hosted a temporary Halloween pop-up store in recent years.

Other Valley View tenants include KFC, See’s Candies and Starbucks.
